BIOGRAPHIES
Alexis Bove, born in Paris in 1987, started playing the cello at the age of 4.At the age of 13 he entered the Regional Conservatoire of Saint-Maur in the class of Pascal Jaupart and Christophe Oudin, where he got first prize in excellence degree in cello, in chamber music and sight reading In 2005 he joined the string orchestra “Ensemble Naïri” performing Armenian and Georgian folk music as well as the traditional classical repertoire for Chamber Orchestra. In 2010 he attended the class of Michel Strauss and Jan-Ype Nota at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague in The Netherlands, where from in 2014 he got his Bachelor Degree and in 2016 his Master Degree. Apart from his main studies Alexis took part in many master classes with such musicians as Reinbert de Leeuw, Marc Coppey (Académie de Nice), Henri Demarquette and Peter Croppers (Académie Maurice Ravel), Amy Flamers and Michel Michalakakos (Biarritz Academy), Philippe Graffin, Harro Ruijsenaars, Jean-Bernard Pommier, and Marie-Paul Milone. Alexis is a member of Ensemble Mir based in The Netherlands and the Rotterdam Chamber Music Society “R.C.M.S”. In chamber music, Alexis’ partners include Juliette Hurel, Patrick Ayrton, Hed Yaron Mayersohn, Cecilia Ziano, Roman Spitzer, Ying Lai Green, Julien Hervé, Ensemble Hélios, Joséphine Olech, Quirine Scheffers and many more. Alexis has also collaborated with orchestras such as “Orchestre National de Lille”, “Opéra National de Lyon”, “Asko Schoenberg Ensemble”. Since 2020 Alexis is regularly playing with the “Metropole Orkest” based in the Netherlands, performing in some of the most prestigious halls in the world with soloists such as Ibrahim Maalouf, Gregory Porter, Christian Scott, Robbie Williams and Louis Cole…. He recently moved to Athens. In 2021 Alexis joined the ensemble “Novarte” performing at Malta’s Spring Festival and at the Horto Festival in Pelion. Since 2022, Alexis has also been a member of the French ensemble “Miroirs étendus” conducted by Fiona Monbet.

Greek pianist Lefki Karpodini has given concerts around Europe, and in Canada, Israel, Russia, USA, and Barbados. She has performed in music venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, Bolivar Hall, St. Martin-in-the-fields, St. John’s Smith Square/ London , the Meistersaal/Berlin, the ZKM/ Karlsruhe, the Rolston Hall/Canada, Theocharakis Foundation, Parnassos, Pallas Hall / Greece. Her festival appearances include Schleswig Holstein, Mecklenburg Vorpommern (Rising Stars Series), Banff, Dresdner Tagen der zeitgenössischen Musik, Cully Classique, Musique Printaniere à Beaucaire, Brighton, Cheltenham, Symi, Heraklion Piano Festival, Kalamata International Music Days, Festival of the Aegean, Paxos Festival (pianist in residence) and others.
As soloist and chamber musician she has collaborated with numerous musicians, orchestras and ensembles, including Ensemble Modern, the Pan-European Orchestra, Guildhall Symphony Orchestra and the Athens Symphony Orchestra, Stenhammar Quartet among others and she was a member of piano trios Fibonacci and Trioskop while based in Berlin. Since 2013, she has been performing in a piano duo with Michael Brownlee Walker.
She has recorded for BBC Radio 3, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Greek Radio, and the Deutscher Musikrat and her collaboration with composers includes recordings, performances and premieres of contemporary composers from all over the world.
She was awarded Gold Medal at the “Filon” Music Competition (Greece), first prize at the Schubert Competition (GSMD, London), and the Sir Henry Richardson Award from the Musicians’ Benevolent Fund (London) and has been recipient of various scholarships in order to support her music education.
She received her Piano Diploma from Athens Conservatoire and her Bmus, PGdip and MMus from London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Furthermore, she took lessons from Maria Joao Pires and attended the Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt. She is a piano professor at Athens Conservatoire and Athenaeum Conservatoire.
