Music has the unique power to dissolve borders and unite people’s souls through a universal language: song. This very magic comes to life in the concert “CANZONE – Songs without borders,” offering a multicultural mosaic full of emotion, nostalgia, and timeless melodies.
The evening’s program forms a unique bridge between different eras, countries, and musical genres:
The passion of Naples and beloved Italian melodies by Cardillo, Tosti, Ferrio, and Rota meet the Iberian Peninsula with the passionate Spanish folk songs of Manuel de Falla and the French finesse of Greek folk melodies uniquely harmonized by Maurice Ravel. Next, we travel to the other side of the Atlantic, featuring iconic pieces from the musicals of Kern and Bernstein, the jazz aura of Gershwin, and the deep devotion of a traditional gospel. The journey concludes with cherished melodies by Theodorakis and the unsurpassed gems of Greek song by Morakis, Katrivanos, and Giannidis, which will have us all singing along.
